An unusual and fine ivory kris handle ( Ukisan or Hulu Kris ) in the form of a wrathful dancing deity with elaborate locks of hair, holding a whisk and a banner in each hand;  wearing a loin cloth with decorated frontal flap;  detailed face with bulging eyes, flared nose and snarling mouth and bedecked with jewelled necklace, sash, armlets, bracelets and anklets;  gilt metal alloy pommel ( Selut ) with studded jewels and floral motifs;  ivory;   circa 1900;  Indonesia;  . 5 inches (12.7 cm) long.

Provenance:  a private collection in Singapore.
